A man has died after he was caught in a rip on Sydney’s northern beaches last week.
Robin Kadyan, 22, was swimming with friends at North Curl Curl Beach on Sunday, August 6, before they were swept out to sea in a rip. He died at Northern Beaches Hospital on Friday, police said.A web page set up to raise funds for his funeral in India said he fought for his life for several days, but he had “irreversible” brain injuries.
“You may know ‘Robin kadyan’ as your friend or brother ... His family need your support in this bad time to arrange his funeral back in india,” the post stated.Surf Life Saving Club members, Water Police, and officers from Northern Beaches police area command, along with five helicopters, were involved in the rescue operation.A 21-year-old man was rescued by Surf Club members in an inflatable rescue boat, while Kadyan was winched unresponsive from the water by the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter.
