A man has died in hospital days after 'getting into difficulty' in the water at a Scots loch
Emergency services raced to Loch Ryan, near Cairnryan Road in Stranraer, after the alarm was raised at around 11.25am on Monday. A 40-year-old man who was rescued from the water was rushed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Police have confirmed he died in the hospital on Friday. Pictures taken from the scene showed police, ambulance and lifeboat teams in attendance at the scene of the incident.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the 40-year-old man who was rescued from the water near Cairnryan Road, Stranraer around 11.25am on Monday, April 3, has since died.
