The 25-year-old died after succumbing to life-threatening injuries following the three-vehicle accident at the Ipswich suburb of Amberley. Police said that at about 6.45pm, a grey Mitsubishi Lancer was turning west onto the Cunningham Highway from Ipswich Rosewood Road when it collided with a truck, which was travelling east.The rear passenger of the Lancer, a 25-year-old Ripley man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The driver, a 33-year-old Highgate Hill man, was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.The driver of the truck, a 25-year-old Pine Mountain man, and the driver of the Camry, were also unhurt.The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing to witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV from the area to come forward.
