A man who reportedly went underwater while swimming Sunday and didn't resurface has died, according to the Grand Prairie Fire Department.
A possible drowning at the lake was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Grand Prairie Fire Department.Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the Grand Prairie Fire Department was notified of a possible drowning at Joe Pool Lake, according to aSomeone reported they had seen a male in the water near the swim beach area of the lake and “did not resurface,” the post read. The person was not wearing a live vest, according to the fire department.
A dive team found the man, who was identified as being in his mid-20s, underwater. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead. The fire department did not say when emergency crews found the man.“As the lake season begins, GPFD strongly encourages the public to wear a life vest or an appropriate personal flotation device near or in the water,” the Facebook post read., Breaking News reporter.
