He originally went to hospital with a bad back and tiredness
A Nottinghamshire man will have to remain in hospital for six months while he receives treatment for a rare cancer. Lewis Johnson, from Mansfield , was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a rare type of cancer that targets the blood cells and bone marrow, on September 6.
His mum, Kahli Johnson, decided to stay with her son 24/7, helping him with everyday tasks such as washing and getting dressed. "She's been doing everything for me. It's a struggle, it's not what you want at this age but you've got to play the cards you're dealt," said Mr Johnson. "I had to wait over the bank holiday to be told if it was cancer. It was a really long weekend sat round waiting, just worrying. My parents live in Dubai so they came straight back. We all feared the worse."
