Man fighting for life after being stabbed in Hyde Park as thousands celebrate 4/20
A man in his 20s has been left in a critical condition after being stabbed in Hyde Park this afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to reports of a fight at the western part of the inner-city green space at around 4.30pm. It’s not known if the attack is connected to the 4/20 pro-cannabis event in Hyde Park, which has been attended by thousands of people.Police were initially treating the victim’s injuries as life-threatening, but in an updated statement Met Police said it was: ‘Now not deemed life-threatening.’A Met Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at around 4.40pm on Saturday, 20 April, to a fight in the western part of Hyde Park, W1.
‘Officers attended along with LAS and found a man suffering a suspected stab injury. The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, has been taken to hospital.‘There has been no arrest.’The fight happened just 20 minutes after the event’s highlight at 4.20pm Meanwhile in a separate incident, officers were called to Osborne Street in east London at around 7.20pm tonight after receiving reports of another fight.A man in his 20s is currently in a life-threatening condition, while a man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
