Emergency services raced to Montgomerie Street in Ardrossan after receiving reports of a disturbance at 8.30pm on Tuesday.The BBC reports that a 24-year-old woman was also found injured outside the building.A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection.

"Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old woman was found injured outside a block of flats. She was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment."A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
"A police presence remains in the area and anyone with any concerns or information can approach these officers."
