A man has been found guilty of murdering primary school teacher Ashling Murphy in Tullamore, Co Offaly, Ireland.
Ashling, 23, was killed by Jozef Puska, 33, while she was exercising on a canal path on January 12, 2022.However, a jury of nine men and three women unanimously found him guilty today, after starting their deliberations on Wednesday. Judge Mr Justice Tony Hunt thanked the jury for their service. He said the prompt verdict reflected that it was a straightforward case.However, he said there was no doubt the case was “difficult and upsetting”.
