Mapperley Road in Mapperley Park, Nottingham has been closed in both directions with forensics at the scene
A man was found lying in a road with serious injuries in Mapperley Park. The man, in his 20s, was discovered by concerned members of the public at about 4am on Friday .
He has been taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries. The road has been closed in both directions, between the A60 Mansfield Road to Elm Bank. Forensics remain at the scene combing for evidence. Elm Bank, a small residential street, is also shut as of 9am on Friday.Sergeant Jordan Robson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The road is currently closed while police investigations continue and we would urge motorists to avoid the area. We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.
"I would urge anyone with any information, or relevant dashcam footage, to please get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to call the force on 101, quoting incident 79 of July 19, 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Meanwhile, a pathway has also been cordoned off by police officers, just under a mile away at the Forest Recreation Ground. It's unclear if the two incidents are connected at this stage.
