This park is a popular location for residents in that area. Deborah Kelch, who's been walking to that park for around 17 years, said she was in shock to hear about the deadly stabbing. “Shock and sadness. I’m in this park a minimum of once a day, sometimes twice a day, and I’ve never seen anything to indicate that kind of violence," said Kelch.“There’s been an incident recently where I woke in the middle of the night and heard someone screaming, and I wasn’t sure if it was a violent thing or someone just talking," said Danielle Shull. It's unclear if there was a connection between the two. Police said no suspects have been arrested.

“It’s horrible. I hope it’s an isolated incident and that it’s something between the two and it’s not something that’s going to happen further," said Danielle Wapnowski, who lives in Queen Anne. Police ask anyone with information to call the SPD's violent crimes tip line at 206-233-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
