GILBERT, Ariz. — A man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for murdering his 80-year-old stepfather on Christmas Day in Gilbert.
When Gilbert police arrived to the residence on Dec. 25, officers found the windshield of a vehicle riddled with bullet holes and Kinney in the driver's seat. The stepfather died a short time later. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office said Kaser made callous statements after the shooting that he hoped his stepfather was dead.
The defendant allegedly told investigators he had thought about killing his stepfather for the last 20 years.
