Harrisburg police say they apprehended a “potential person of interest” at the scene of a downtown shooting early Sunday morning that left a man in critical condition, but are seeking anyone with further information on the incident.
According to a report from city police, officers were conducting bar closing checks around 2:30 a.m. when they heard multiple gunshots in the area of North 2nd and Locust streets and quickly located a man suffering from a gunshot wound.Officers also located the person of interest nearby, who police said attempted to flee and discarded a firearm; both the person and the firearm were secured after a brief pursuit, police reported.
