The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near Canal Way and Indiana Avenue.
INDIANAPOLIS — A man is recovering after he was shot early Tuesday morning near the canal in downtown Indianapolis.600 block of Canal WalkDetectives are still investigating what led up to the shooting, but early Tuesday morning, an IMPD shift supervisor said it could have been the result of an attempted robbery.
"They'll be out there trying to canvass the area, since we're in daylight hours, to see if there's any video footage or camera footage," IMPD Officer William Young said. Mueller frequently walks the canal during the week and said what happened wouldn't stop her from continuing to do that.
