Anton Peck was sentenced to three years in prison for attempting to rob a disabled woman at a cash point in Beeston, Nottinghamshire. He also pleaded guilty to stalking, shop thefts, and assaulting police officers and an emergency worker.

A man has been sentenced to three years in prison after threatening a disabled woman at a cash point in Beeston town centre, Nottinghamshire . Anton Peck, 42, repeatedly demanded money from the victim, who was in her 40s, as she used a cash machine on the night of May 1, 2022. When the woman left, Peck followed her and attempted to grab her phone as she continued to refuse his demands. A struggle ensued, during which Peck ran off but was pursued and detained by a member of the public.

Police arrived and arrested Peck, of Mansfield Road, Woodthorpe. He was subsequently charged with attempted robbery in relation to the incident. Peck also pleaded guilty to a string of other offences, including stalking, shop thefts, and assaulting two police officers and an emergency worker. These additional charges stemmed from Peck bombarding a woman with unwanted messages and engaging in further criminal activity. Detective Inspector James Oakton, of Nottinghamshire Police, commended the bravery of the victim and expressed hope that the sentence would provide her with some reassurance. 'Peck’s aggressive and intimidating behaviour was understandably incredibly scary and traumatic for the vulnerable victim of this attempted robbery,' said Oakton. 'I hope she can feel reassured now that Peck has been put behind bars for the frightening ordeal he put her through.
