A 41-year-old man shot and killed his wife with three children inside the home before he turned the gun on himself, according to a Florida sheriff.

According to the incident report, Michael Delmar burst into a room with a gun in hand and started choking Katie Delmar. He then dragged her into the living room, where he shot her multiple times, according to documents. Johnson said the off-duty deputy called 911, alerting deputies about gunshots and stating a child was at his door with a gunshot wound to the leg.
"The children are safe now with family members," Johnson said Tuesday. "The main thing now is to get them counseling and get them help."
