Man killed in Crown Heights shooting: NYPD
Another man was shot and killed early Sunday in a Brooklyn neighborhood that’s experienced a spike in gun violence this year.
First responders found him with a gunshot wound to the torso, and he was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, officials said. He is the sixth person to die from gun violence in Crown Heights in 2024, as the neighborhood leads the city in fatal shootings so far this year. There have been more than 30 gun homicides across the five boroughs since January, NYPD data shows., with local anti-violence organizations like Save Our Streets imploring young people to take advantage of their programs to stay out of dangerous situations.
