A 38-year-old passenger died after a Volkswagen Golf collided with a parked car in Port Glasgow, Scotland. The female driver was arrested and later released pending further investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
A young man has died after the car he was travelling in crashed into a parked vehicle in Port Glasgow . Emergency crews raced to Clune Brae in Port Glasgow at around 9.55pm on Monday, December 16, after a Volkswagen Golf crashed into a parked, unoccupied Peugeot car. A 38-year-old man who was a passenger in the Volkswagen Golf was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 50-year-old woman, was arrested and released pending further enquiries. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police Scotland have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the fatal crash and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Chief Inspector David Doherty said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died. “As our enquiries continue, we urge anyone who was in the area of Clune Brae and either witnessed the crash or has any information that may assist our investigation to contact us. “Anyone with dash-cam or personal footage is asked to review it and please get in touch if it contains anything relevant to our investigation. “If you have any information that could help, please contact 101 quoting reference number 3838 of 16 December.”
