A 29-year-old man, Matthew Gomes, allegedly killed his parents in Montpelier, Vermont, on Friday morning. The victims, Jerry Gomes, 77, and Mary Gomes, 60, died from blunt force trauma. Matthew Gomes reportedly called 911 to report the crime. He was arrested at the scene and is set for arraignment on Monday.

State police said on Friday night that they had arrested 29-year-old Matthew Gomes, of Montpelier, in connection with the killings of two adults at the home the three shared Autopsies completed Monday determined the cause of their deaths to be blunt force trauma, and the manner of deaths was homicide.
