A man suffered a terrifying ordeal after a routine treatment for a painful, long-lasting erection resulted in a massive anesthetic overdose. Medics accidentally administered ten times the required amount of anesthetic, leading to local anesthetic systemic toxicity (LAST). The man experienced hallucinations, paralysis, and breathing difficulties, prompting a 'code black' emergency response. After receiving oxygen, IV fluids, and a lipid emulsion, he recovered. However, the next day he experienced lingering LAST effects, including anxiety, hallucinations, and vision loss.
