Felipe Lorenz says there's one thing he loves most about Merseyside
Felipe Lorenz, 23, from Bootle , moved to Merseyside aged 15 from Brazil, with his mum Vanessa Da Silva for education opportunities. Though he knew why he was moving away from home, he still encountered difficulties in settling in.
“It was tough. I came from where I was and went straight into college. It was a completely different system. It was a culture shock I guess. “In the past eight years I’ve been here, the first time I went back was last year in January. The tickets are quite expensive and the opportunity never quite arose.”
This aims to give students a learning environment that matches the real world, including a motion-capture studio that captures real-life movements and turns them into graphic animations for use in games and film, virtual reality equipment and more. “I like the creative freedom, that's my favourite part. I've got ADHD and my mind is going crazy all the time. Knowing all that, if I can put the time and effort in, I can put that into something I can consume and other people can consume, is great.”
Felipe said: “It's actually quite motivating to be honest. Right after I started, we started hearing about loads of studios in Liverpool that have recently opened. It's such a hub for studios now.
