A rescue mission has been launched after a man fell overboard from an offshore platform in the North Sea.
Two oil supply vessels and a coastguard helicopter and aeroplane are part of the search, around 100 miles south-east off the Aberdeen coast.A spokeswoman for Aberdeen Coastguard told The Press and Journal: ‘We were called to assist police at about 9pm following reports of a man who had fallen overboard from an offshore installation.
