Man punches woman in face on night out in Solihull after she defends friend from racial slurs over coronavirus outbreak
Meera Solanki, 29, had been celebrating her birthday with friends in Solihull in the West Midlands.
She told Birmingham newspaper the Sunday Mercury that the man had"harassed" the group before telling her friend of Chinese origin to"take your f***ing coronavirus and take it back home".Ms Solanki was in hospital for six hours before taking a week off work.West Midlands Police said:"We're investigating after a woman was assaulted after another was racially abused in Frederick Street, Hockley, around 2am on Sunday 9 February.
"A man made racist remarks to one woman and after he was asked to stop he punched another female, in her 20s, in the face.
