Alaska State Troopers launched a huge search and rescue operation after an unattended kayak was spotted floating on the lake near the city of Juneau on Monday. The search for the keen adventurer, who regularly shared pictures and videos of his kayaking and hiking trips, started on Sunday after the US Forest Service noticed a vehicle had been parked at the centre’s lot for five days.
