Rich Williams has supported his family throughout their 'constant battles'
A dad’s heartbreaking year started after a chat with his parents. Rich Williams, 41, from Bebington , had seen his parents Peter and Pam Williams be diagnosed and overcome prostate, lung and breast cancer in the last few years. However, last July he discovered on the same day that his mum and his dad both had cancer again. Pam’s breast cancer had returned, while Peter had been diagnosed with incurable lung cancer. Speaking to the ECHO , Rich said: “It was devastating. It was just crushing.
I was spinning a thousand plates and there’s only so much you can do in a 24 hour period. It was stressful.” Exercise has always been an important part of Rich’s life. He has been a keen runner and climber, heading to the likes of the three peaks, Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc for various challenges. In late 2023, as he recovered from shingles, Rich heard his friends talk about the Dragon’s Back race.
