Rob Woodward was told the news before going to work one day
A man was told some shocking news after nearly ignoring vital advice. Rob Woodward, a 62 year-old from Toxteth, was not particularly worried when he developed a chest infection around two and a half years ago.
Rob was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer, the most common form of the illness. He said: “It was absolutely shocking. You don't expect it. I'm not being funny, I wasn't going to go to the X-ray.” Rob thinks a lot about that initial X-ray which he was so close to not going to. He said: “I most likely wouldn’t be here today if I hadn't gone. If I’d have just left it, as opposed to the lump being a couple of centimetres, it could have been 25 centimetres.”
Kai will take to the stage at the Ultra Comedy Night taking place in the city centre next month. In the lead-up, he is fundraising for the charity Cancer Research UK, with £315 raised so far.
