The couple are anxious that the terror incident happened in broad daylight on their doorstep in an area where children play regularly and that the dog still hasn't been caught.
A man who was savaged by an XL bully while taking the bins out has shared his horror ordeal as cops continue to hunt for the beast. John Paterson, from Fife, was walking back towards his home on December 9 when the huge canine lunged at him before clamping its jaws onto his cheek. The terrified 39-year-old tried to push the dog away , but it tore into his arm before he managed to escape and take shelter in a nearby flat stairwell.
He continued: 'It it terrifying that this dog is still on the loose. I am desperate for the police to trace it and woman so nobody else gets hurt. 'The police came round today but they haven't got any updates yet. 'Hopefully they will catch it soon because that type of dog running about without a muzzle is terrifying. 'It was such an aggressive, vicious creature . If it targets a child, or anyone more vulnerable than me it could be a very different situation.
