Police believe it was a targeted attack.
The 38-year-old was taken to Monklands University Hospital following the attack and has since been released.Police say they believe the assault was targeted and are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
Officers investigating the assault have been reviewing CCTV footage and have carried out door-to-door enquiries. It has been established a white Range Rover Sport with black allows and a silver kick plate was seen driving off from the area and police are keen to trace the vehicle and its occupants.Detective Constable Lisa McMullen said:"This does appear to be a targeted attack which is being thoroughly investigated to identify those responsible."I would also ask anyone with dash-cams or other recording devices, to check their footage as it could assist in our investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0193 of Sunday, February 12.
