A man was seriously injured after being shot on Shaw Road in Oldham. A gunman on a motorcycle allegedly fired at men leaving a taxi before fleeing. A 19-year-old has been arrested. Multiple police cordons are in place, and a large emergency service presence has been reported.
The victim was shot after a gunman opened fire in Shaw Road, in the Derker area of the town, at about 12.15pm today . He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.

Superintendent Phil Hutchinson, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “Those living in this area of Oldham will notice there are many officers and specialists there. I can assure you this is nothing to be concerned about, we are simply following multiple lines of enquiry to understand what has led to this shooting as quickly as possible, and to provide reassurance in the community.
