HOP opened a year ago, serving craft beer in Bromborough
The Wirral Council worker, 51, had always had an interest in beer. Intrigued by micropubs serving craft ales in Liverpool and other parts of the country, he thought Bromborough needed one of its own.
"During covid, the Bow-Legged Beagle opened in Bromborough Village. They opened before us, I started drinking there but it was a bit too long a walk from me. "I've had massive support from Gareth and Vicky in Dead Crafty . They took me under their wing. They're very supportive of the industry and they don't keep any secrets.
"For me, you can't call these sorts of places a microbar unless you only sell independently-produced beers, which we do, in a setting which is similar to an old-style pub, like the ones you used to get in Liverpool at the end of every other street", explains Graham. "I think that's why they've become popular.
"We've run something called Cask Club for the last three months, where you can have all four casks at a discount and you can vote on each one. That has given us a really good insight into what people prefer. He said: "We're looking at three places on the Wirral, we're also looking at Sheffield due to the legacy and the inspiration and we're looking at Dublin.
