Crime and Public Safety |The fatal shooting was reported just before 4:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Louvaine Avenue, in the Brookfield Village neighborhood, according to the Oakland Police Department. Officers arrived to find a man in his 40s suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The man was transported to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries a short time later, police said. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.An investigation is underway into the shooting. As of Thursday night, police had not identified a motive or any suspects.
