The Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics were treating a man reportedly struck by lightning about 2.30pm on South Pine Road at Brendale, north of Brisbane.
A man was reportedly struck by lightning on Sunday as storms swept across Brisbane and caused almost 5000 people to lose power.
Brisbane could receive large hail and up to 50 millimetres of rain as a system moves across the south-east.About noon on Sunday, meteorologist Miriam Bradbury said the Darling Downs region was experiencing thunderstorms as the same system that caused significant flooding in the state’s north-west moved south-east.
“If we put out any warnings, that’s most likely to be for heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding, although large hail and damaging winds are possible, but less likely.”
