The incident happened at Childwall Fiveways
The victim, a man in his 50s was found unconscious on Childwall Valley Road at around 7.30pm tonight after he was involved in a verbal altercation with a man in a white Golf car who got out and struck him.
An investigation is underway including witness, CCTV and forensic enquiries which are being carried out in the local area.
