Police have shared a CCTV appeal following the incident on Bank Hey Street
Lancashire Constabulary said the victim was approached on Bank Hey Street by the suspect who demanded he hand over his bike. The incident happened at around 5.45pm on Monday, December 18.
More than two months on from the incident, officers on Friday released a CCTV image of a suspect they wanted to speak to as part of their ongoing investigation. They are asking anyone who recognises him to contact police.In a statement on Facebook, a force spokesperson said: "Do you recognise this person? We want to speak to them as part of an ongoing investigation into an attempted robbery in Blackpool, where a man was threatened with a knife.
"The incident occurred McDonald’s on Bank Hey Street at approximately 5.45pm on Monday 18th December 2023. A man was approached in the street by the suspect who demanded he hand over his bike. "We have conducted a number of enquiries since the attempted robbery in December and now we are asking for the public’s help. If you recognise the person in the CCTV still or have information as to who it might be, please contact 101, quoting log 1243 of 18th December 2023, or email [email protected]."
