A man in his forties has sadly died after being rescued from a burning building in Pudsey. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
Police were contacted by the fire service who were attending a fire in a room at a house in Cemetery Road, in the Pudsey area of Leeds, at 9.48pm on Friday night .
A man, aged in his forties, was removed from the property and given emergency treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson has said. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.Yorkshire Ambulance Service were also in attendance. A police spokesperson said: "At 9.48pm last night, police were contacted by the fire service who were attending a fire in a room at a house in Cemetery Road, Pudsey.
"A man, aged in his forties, was removed from the property and given emergency treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later. "The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious but detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing to carry out enquiries into the circumstances."
