Manchester United confirm squad for training camp in Spain as Jadon Sancho absent
Jadon Sancho has not travelled with a callow Manchester United squad to Spain for their warm-weather training camp.
Sancho has not played since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on October 22 due to illness and it emerged last month he had deactivated his social media accounts to focus on his personal and professional life. The 23-year-old travelled to the Netherlands to train under coaches recommended by United manager Erik ten Hag and the club confirmed Sancho is "continuing his individual training programme as part of a process to get back to his highest level".United flew to Cadiz on Saturday ahead of two friendlies against Cadiz on Wednesday and Real Betis on Saturday to prepare for the resumption of the domestic season.
David de Gea and Donny van de Beek, both omitted from the Spain and Netherlands squads, flew with the team, as did Anthony Martial after injuries prevented him from forcing his way back into the France squad. The majority of the members of last season's FA Youth Cup-winning squad have been named in the travelling squad. Kobbie Mainoo and Tyler Fredricson have been unused substitutes for the first team this season while Charlie McNeill came on for his debut against Real Sociedad in September.
