Some Manchester United supporters have demanded that young midfielder Dan Gore is included in the matchday squad against Nottingham Forest on Saturday after a polished showing against Stockport County in the EFL Trophy.
United's youngsters fully deserved the extra point that a penalty shootout triumph brings, producing an excellent performance against one of League Two's promotion favourites. County missed out on promotion last season, losing the League Two play-off final on penalties. Gore, who captained United's Under-21s on Tuesday evening, has a very bright future ahead of himself and it remains to be seen what United will decide to do with him ahead of the transfer window closing in just over a week's time. There have been calls for the Reds to send him out on loan to give him his first taste of first-team football on a regular basis.
