Manchester United talisman Bruno Fernandes escape a two-game suspension against Liverpool
Manchester United have been handed a significant boost in their race for Champions League football run-in following Sunday's Premier League draw with fierce rivals Liverpool.
Bruno Fernandes curled in a fantastic strike from distance before Kobbie Mainoo struck a sensational effort past Caoimhin Kelleher in the the 67th minute. Liverpool responded late on with Mohamed Salah continuing his fine record against United from the spot. Fernandes has been booked eight times in the Premier League this season meaning he will avoid a possible suspension for collecting 10 bookings after 32 games. Had he been booked by Anthony Taylor against Liverpool, he would face a two-game suspension with another yellow card at Bournemouth next week.
However, with a kind run of fixtures on the horizon for United before they host Arsenal in the penultimate game of the season there remains a chance of bringing Champions League football back to Old Trafford.
