Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford should have been shown a second yellow card against Aston Villa at the weekend, but there would have been question marks over his first booking if he had been sent off, according to former Premier League referee Mark Halsey.
After giving the foul, referee Rob Jones ignored calls from the home supporters and didn’t show a second yellow to Rashford. “I thought Rob Jones is having a very good season, I thought he got the two cautions the wrong way round,” he told the Sun’s The Whistle Blower. “I didn’t think the first one was a caution, it was a careless challenge.
