‘People cannot choose what I should be offended by,’ wrote Onana on Instagram on Thursday evening, alongside two pictures of him celebrating with the Argentine winger. ‘I know exactly what Garnacho meant: power and strength. This matter should go no further.’ Garnacho was thought to be unaware of the racial connotations of the emoji and deleted them when he was made aware, though the FA are still expected to investigate the matter.
