Fernandez, 21, has impressed during loan spells at Preston North End, Granada, and Benfica , ultimately signing permanently with Benfica in May 2024.
While the club is expected to follow a 'sell to buy' strategy to comply with financial regulations, Fernandez's success and the buy-back clause offer a chance for him to return to Manchester United. Fernandez expressed his desire to return to United in the future and make a place for himself there
