Latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip as Burnley midfielder Sander Berge emerges as a potential target for the Reds
Manchester United may still have a rather different midfield going into next season despite the recent transfer update.
Were United to sign Berge, it would give Erik ten Hag another valuable option to have in the No.6 role for next season. Casemiro would compete with Berge for the defensive midfield role this season, unless the Brazilian was to depart this summer, of course. Of course, United do have other options that could be used to partner Berge in the middle of the park. There remains question marks of where Mason Mount features in the team, while the likes of Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay could also be part of the conversation.
