Manchester United will be hoping for a much-improved season under Erik ten Hag
Paul Scholes has questioned whether or not Mason Mount is capable of succeeding at Manchester United as the midfielder prepares for his second season at the club.
Now hoping to put his struggles behind him and make his mark at Old Trafford, the former Chelsea star will be looking to nail down a starting spot in the United team. Speaking on The Overlap, Scholes said: "When Mason Mount came into the team, he is a coach who likes to go for it. He tried to play Casemiro with Mason Mount and bring Bruno Fernandes, which is two No.10s and two footballers who aren't really bothered about playing that position well.
Ten Hag was asked whether his high opinion of Mount had changed during the previous campaign, amid the player's recurring setbacks, and remained defiant when sharing his opinion on the midfielder. "It hasn’t changed at all," remarked the Dutchman.
