Wayne Rooney has had a tough start to life as Birmingham City manager and admits his new players are uncomfortable with his playing style
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney was booed off by some Birmingham City fans after their 2-0 loss to Hull City in the Championship.
The downturn in results has coincided with Rooney’s start as the new manager of the club. He is trying to implement a more attacking philosophy that looks as though it will need time for players to adjust to. “This is what I said to the players, ‘Be honest with me, if you don’t feel comfortable you can tell me, we can adjust, we can adapt’. It’s something for me to look at, am I asking too much, too soon? Can we adjust slightly what we are trying to do?"
“There are a lot of things we can improve on. I spoke to the lads after the game and I asked them to be honest with me, because there’s a lot of changes. We are asking them to go from the back foot to being more front-footed. We are asking the two centre-backs, the goalkeeper and Krystian Bielik to try and play, and we didn’t look comfortable
