The Dutch midfielder came on as a second-half substitute against Lyon in a pre-season friendly and scored the only goal of the game.
“This was a big moment for me,” Van de Beek admitted. “There’s still a chance I move, but we’re keeping it open. “I think it makes you mentally stronger. If this kind of moment happens, you realise how much you love playing football. And when you are back on the pitch you enjoy it more, but of course you have to work really hard.”
