, United are trying to get Martinez back fit as soon as possible and after undergoing an operation on his broken metatarsal, he is set for a second round of surgery in a bid to cure the problem. Martinez first picked up the injury back in April – which ruled him out for 11 weeks – and it has flared up again, with United determined to stop another repeat after he got through games against Brighton and Bayern Munich by taking painkillers.
United lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday with a makeshift back four that saw midfielder Sofyan Amrabat deployed as a left-back.
