United have reportedly reached an agreement to sign the Brazilian from Atalanta

Follow us on Google Discover Manchester United have reportedly turned their attention to signing a Premier League star after agreeing a £35 million deal for Brazilian midfielder Ederson.

The Red Devils appear close to making their first signing of the summer, with the Serie A midfielder expected to put pen to paper on a four-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year.squad despite making the provisional 55-man list, is viewed as a direct replacement for compatriot Casemiro, with the 34-year-old set to depart when his contract expires at the end of June. United continue to be linked with several midfield targets, including Mateus Fernandes, Alex Scott and Hayden Hackney, although the latter is expected to join Everton this summer.left-back Lewis Hall is among the players being considered by United after an impressive spell under Eddie Howe since joining from Chelsea in 2024.

's proposed £69.2 million move to Barcelona eased the club's need to generate funds through player sales this summer. Hall, who is contracted to Newcastle until 2029, has made 102 appearances for the club, scoring three goals – including a stunning long-range effort against United at Old Trafford – and providing seven assists.

The 21-year-old would offer a different profile to Luke Shaw and is regarded as one of the brightest young full-backs in the Premier League thanks to his pace, technical quality and crossing ability. Newcastle value the full-back at £50 million. Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali is also admired by United, although his reported £100 million valuation is likely to prove too much.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle are expected to adopt a 'one out, one in' approach to their transfer business this summer, meaning a replacement would need to be signed should Hall – or any other senior player – leave the club. Hall has progressed under Howe's guidance, earning four England caps despite missing out on Thomas Tuchel's 26-man World Cup squad, with the Newcastle boss regularly praising the youngster's ability and attitude.

Speaking about Hall's omission, Howe said: "My reaction to that was feeling for Lewis. To support him, talk to him and help him, really.

"He is an outstanding player. He is so young and he's got such a lot of his career ahead of him. You don't want it to have a negative impact.
