A man who plowed his truck into a crowd of George Floyd protesters was identified as the self-proclaimed president of the Virginia Ku Klux Klan
Harry Rogers, the self-proclaimed president of the Virginia KKK, is being investigated for a hate crime after he plowed his truck into a group of protesters.
Harry Rogers, 36 appeared in Henrico County Court on Monday morning where the prosecutor said he told arresting officers that he was the president of the state’s chapter of the KKK – and the highest-ranking member not imprisoned, according toPolice said Rogers drove through a group of demonstrators on Sunday in Lakeside, Virginia as the protested for Floyd, a black man killed by police in Minneapolis on Memorial Day.
‘The accused, by his own admission and by cursory glance at social media, is an admitted leader of the Ku Klux Klan and a propagandist for Confederate ideology,’ Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor said in a statement.Rogers was originally charged with attempted malicious wounding, destruction of property and assault and battery.
