Brian Colvin, 44, was fatally injured after a vehicle he was standing in front of accelerated and struck him on Broadway, sheriff’s officials said
A 44-year-old man who investigators say was intentionally run down in Lemon Grove and killed was identified Thursday as a Spring Valley resident.
Sheriff’s deputies received a call around 2:15 a.m. Monday of a hit-and-run on Broadway near Sweetwater Way, Lt. Michael Krugh said. Deputies arrived in two minutes and found Brian Colvin lying in the center lane, Krugh said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. According to Krugh, Colvin was standing in the roadway in front of a vehicle and was speaking with the occupants. A few seconds later, the driver accelerated and struck Colvin, he said.Krugh said investigators are trying to gather more information to determine what led up to the fatal incident.
