Kyle Greenwood, 34, from West Yorkshire saved £1 coins in a Coca Cola bottle and was left completely stunned at how much he'd managed to squirrel away in just four years

However, one man has shown how it's done after managing to save £5,000 in just four years using an unconventional method. Kyle Greenwood, from West Yorkshire, religiously deposited £1 coins into a makeshift piggy bank - a Coca-Cola bottle.

Kyle revealed that he began saving at the start of the pandemic and had no idea how much he'd managed to put away. "I stayed disciplined throughout, even though it was hard," he said. "I thought about dipping into it many times but fought against it once I set my sights on using it to help buy a house." He also admitted that his grandad gave him the bottle, and he made it his mission to "fill it up".

Kyle and his girlfriend Cat took guesses at how much cash they had saved in carrier bags, guessing £4,651 and £4,855 respectively.
