Finnair is expanding its services as it celebrates 30 years of direct flights between Manchester and Helsinki

Finnair is expanding its services from Manchester Airport to Helsinki as it celebrates 30 years of direct flights from the Finnish capital to Manchester. The airline will increase capacity to 12 weekly flights this summer, with plans to launch double daily flights by winter 2024.

Helsinki is perfect for a city-break, where you go there during the summer to enjoy its nearby beaches and islands, or head there in the colder months for winter sports. As well as offering a direct route to the Finnish capital, Finnair also serves as a link to destinations in Asia, such as Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo from its Helsinki hub.

“To celebrate this route now is even more timely as we are about to add capacity for the summer and to go back to double-daily from next winter. In May, the resumption of flights to Nagoya will also allow for increased bilateral ties between Manchester and other Japanese cities alongside Osaka, where we will fly five times per week this coming summer season.”
